Drag conveyor - effective equipment for enterprises of different capacities

Drag conveyor - is one of the types of equipment designed to transport grain and other materials. A peculiar feature of the chain conveyor is the possibility of its continuous operation, as well as the mechanism of operation: the transportation of the load is carried out owing to the cleats, which are fixed to the pulling chains and are dipped into the bulk cargo. The chain with the cleats is located in the box, and the drag conveyor can be loaded both at the end of the conveyor and through the holes in the bottom.

One of the main advantages of the drag conveyor is that it can be adapted to any working conditions and any production capabilities. A wide range of conveyor components allows the creation of various configurations that can be designed for transporting in any position, even at 90 degrees and in the reverse direction.

Chain conveyors usually have high operational characteristics, particularly performance and wear resistance, regardless the material under process. Therefore, they are widely used in such industries as:

• grain processing enterprises;
• reception departments of automobile and railway transport;
• mills and elevators conveyor galleries;
• oil extracting and feeding factories;
• other enterprises that are associated with the processing and acceptance of fewseeds and seeds.

Depending on the purpose and turnover of the enterprise, on the load and length, a drag conveyor is equipped with a gear motor with the necessary parameters. Nowadays, improved conveyors production technology has made it possible to minimize the complexity of maintenance. The mechanisms are equipped with bearing units with removable oil cans, thus providing technical inspection to be carried out without dismantling and even without stopping the chain conveyor.

Let us consider the components of the conveyor. Typically, there are seven fundamental parts: five sections (drive, tension intermediate and two with inspection windows), a chain with the cleats, a gear motor and metal rails.

Advantages and performance capabilities of the drag conveyor

The chain conveyor has several advantages as compared with other types of conveyors. Thus, it can be equipped with unloading sections, allowing the intermediate unload of the material. Conveyor sections are mechanically connected. While placing the order for a chain conveyor, we will separately specify the configuration of the sensors, as well as the connecting coupling. In the latter case, it should be taken into account that if the gear motor has a power higher than 9.2 kW, the coupling must be installed.

The production capabilities of the drag conveyor range from 20 to 2000 t/h. Grain losses during transportation are excluded owing to hermetic production of the equipment; it also helps to work with the material under any weather conditions. Lateral and lower liners are made of high-strength steel, which significantly extends the lifetime of the conveyor, and if it is necessary to replace the lining, it is not necessary to dismantle the chains and its components.
